When comparing various manufacturers it is often difficult to discern important differences just from photographs alone.

Design: We have been designing and manufacturing wood products including kitchens, casework, displays and furniture products for over 30 years, and have been designing and manufacturing outdoor garden structures since 1995. That experience contributes immensely to our ability to make a project look "right" and to arrive at creative solutions for each client. We make structures that are aesthetically beautiful and designed to the proper scale for the environment in which they are placed. We will work together to ensure that your structure is exactly right for you.

Material: Our structures are produced with the finest cedar available. The material we use is the same for every project: A & Better, clear, kiln dried, vertical grain, Western Red Cedar. This means that the wood is flawless: no sap wood, no splits, no knots and no warping. It is extremely rot resistant and very stable.

Starting with the best materials is the first step to ensure that our structures are the premier western red cedar products on the market.

Production Techniques: Our production techniques are the next step to establishing a truly excellent structure. We use construction methods common in the furniture industry: including spline joints, bridle joints, doweled joints and mortise & tenon joinery, to ensure maximum strength and longevity of our structures. Our posts, beams and rafters do not appear spindly or thin; care is taken to use the correct size for the function and aesthetic qualities of the piece. Our rafters are always notched to fit over our beams. Water absorption is taken into account when we design our products and often wherever possible the tops of posts and columns are sealed with copper flashing.
